6.05: Final Fantasy Family Feud Game #1!

FFFF Game #1

All right, the game will be starting at 7 PM EST, in about 30 minutes. I'm getting the post set up now.

Come meet the teams. In one corner we've got Team Rocket AKA the Returners! [personal profile] chaos_cat (leader), [personal profile] crissaegrim, and [personal profile] sleipnir
And in the other corner, Team Jumpstealpunch AKA Team Mug! [personal profile] lady_nova (leader), [personal profile] the_asteroid_girl, and [personal profile] alwaysbeenasmiler

Let me know if you have any last minute changes to the order or substitutions needed!

You may want to track this post so that you know when new comments are posted. I'm also in the Chatzy (password is ffland, click the Join Chat button at the bottom after you enter the room) if you need to talk to me.

Round 1 jumpball - [personal profile] chaos_cat vs. [personal profile] lady_nova
Round 2 jumpball - [personal profile] crissaegrim vs. [personal profile] alwaysbeenasmiler
Round 3 jumpball - [personal profile] sleipnir vs. [personal profile] lady_nova

(The above may change if people check in or drop out.)

Check out this post if you need a refresher on how Family Feud works.

Jumpball rules:
- As soon as the category is posted, the people participating in a jumpball can post their guess, one thing fitting the category that they think the most number of people answered.
- You MUST reply to the jumpball thread in order for your answer to count -- if you are first, but reply in the wrong place, your answer won't be counted until you repost it in the correct thread.
- The winner of the jumpball is whoever gets the higher answer on the scoreboard, or whoever posted first, if both people guess the #1 answer.
- If you win the jumpball, you can decide as a team or individually to either play (your team guesses) or pass (the other team guesses).

Guessing rules:
- While guessing, the members of the team take turns posting one guess at a time. Only the person whose turn it is can respond. They can't take suggestions from teammates.
- Three incorrect guesses and the other team gets the chance to steal.

Stealing rules:
- The opposing team can discuss together to come up with a single answer (you only get one chance to steal). You can do this while the other team is guessing, but if so, you should probably do it somewhere private.
- In addition to using external chat, members can also use the stealing thread to offer suggestions to their team leader, but once the team leader posts a guess in the stealing thread, that will count for the team's answer.
- If that answer is anywhere on the board, then all of that board's revealed points (including the guessed answer) go to the stealing team. Otherwise, stealing is unsuccessful and the guessing team keeps the points.

General rules:
- To go with the "gameshow" feel of this minigame, it's encouraged you not use Google or any outside sources like FFWikia. Honor system!
- If at any point your internet fails or you have to leave or your team members go MIA, that's fine. If you can, notify people you're having difficulties and we'll switch around the order or skip members or whatever we need to do.

Audience rules:
- Members of the audience can add their commentary, but not offer up answers to the contestants.

Important note on the answers in the scoreboards:
- Most of the people polled were from Reddit, so keep that in mind when guessing answers. Think about what answers a bunch of Reddit denizens might give...
- I usually cut off answers that got less then 2-3% of the vote. There are some scoreboards that have a higher cut-off, though.

I would've striked out if I were the last guesser too, as I was assuming the exact same thing! ... and would've guessed either Firaga or Death because of it. XD

That is, that "summon" in itself is an ability, so actual summons don't count was my guess, rofl.
