6.06 - TEXT ADVENTURE AHOY

So this one was something I came up on the spot with, but I think it's just time to have some fun.

I am a protagonist in a video game very similar to Final Fantasy *cough cough*. Anyone can begin an opening scene and we can run multiple adventures at a time. I will respond with a COMMAND and we'll keep going from there. It's probably best if I demonstrate this:

OPENING:

You lie awake in what appears to be your bedroom. The ceiling is drab and looks to be the colour of vomit, and there's a couple of gross spider webs at the corners. The air in the room smells unnaturally clean. Almost as if you're in a hospital. The room is quite dark, the curtains are drawn (but your face is not). The door looks as if it could fall apart at any time.

(at this point, I'll start with a command, as is general in text based games) Me: - LOOK AROUND

(here, you can respond to my command of "LOOK AROUND" with whatever you want)You: - Do I really have to repeat the opening for you? Jeez, stay awake, will you? Bedroom. Ceiling. Vomit. Hospital. Please give me something more productive to work with.

Me: - EXAMINE DOOR

You: It's locked! HOW NOW BROWN COW??

Me: - KICK DOOR

You: With a STR Stat of -12, you fail miserably. You hear a clanking sound coming from the direction of the door.

and so on and so forth! Most commands in text-based games are pretty simple. I will be providing the commands, and your job is to provide a description. Don't worry about story, just let it go wherever! If you've responded at least 3 times I'll award you 30 points (10 points for each response). Feel free to go more though!

Anyone can start their own opening if they wish. If you're not sure and you would rather not do a description, feel free to try a command as well! Generally they go in the form of VERB OBJECT ("USE KEY", "ATTACK ZOMBIE") etc.

HAVE FUN!

EDITED BECAUSE I AM UNCLEAR.

- Feel free to start an adventure by being a writer and writing an opening scene to which others can PLAY by giving you commands in response to your scene and you respond back to them.
- Feel free to PLAY an adventure by responding to other people's scenes.
- I will award 30 points to at least 3 responses (doesn't matter if you're playing or writing)

I hope that's clearer, I'm really sorry it was so confusing at the beginning!

There is a field of flowers, it is the most beautiful field that has ever fielded. There is a tree with one of the old fashioned swings and a light breeze is endeavoring to push it back and forth and off in the distance there is a wooded grove that is separated from meadow by a little stream. In the distance birds are chirping and everything seems to be peachy keen.

Roses? I happen to like roses as a matter of fact, they are so pretty with their velvet petals and there is this nice nearly-june buzz filtering around them.. where the air is nice and cloying and you think the air may be power lines.

I lean down to smell the roses, and realize that buzzing noise... it isn't just atmospheric.

ITS A BEE, OMG!

[Oh okay! Thanks!]

HADOKEN SMASH GO! One Bee is obviously a whole lot of trouble and needs your whole repertoire of MAD MONK SKILLZ. FILTHY BUGGER KEEPS EVADING.. WTF?

That's it, THAT IS IT! Time to teach this buzzing little nodcock a lesson. METEOR STRIKE!

You summoun forth a rain of destruction upon the bee and overkill it since Bee had only 1 hit point.

Unfortunately, pretty meadow has turned into mordor.

It's in minigames, so... uh, are there any points for this?

You are in...

Well, crap. It's kind of hard to work it out. You're a little dizzy, a little disoriented, and you don't know where the hell you are.

This is not a good start to your day.

There's a BED, a TABLE and a DOOR leading WEST. The door is closed.

Exits: (W)est [closed].

[Lolz, I hope I am doing this right! This is Breyzy, BTW...I'll say that here in case Yin swings by later to participate!]

You are in a night club. All you can hear is loud techno music that makes your head hurt. There is a BAR to your right, a DANCE FLOOR full of PEOPLE DANCING to your left, and behind you a DOOR leading out surrounded by bouncers blocking your way.

Time to settle that primal hunger. You're so ravenous, you could eat a horse.

Well, there's no horse in sight, so you settle for the nearest object, which is the hapless TABLE.

You chow down on it.

Tastes like chicken. Or maybe that's the product of your FEVERED MIND. Is your mind even fevered? How would you tell, anyway?

Whatever. It's clearly important enough that the bastard writing this thing decided to capitalize it.

There is a BED and a DOOR leading WEST. The door is closed.

(I)nventory: FEVERED MIND.

You are in a parking lot, with no one in sight and about ten cars parked in a row to your right. There's a store to the left, and it's closed. Which means you're out of luck for munchies...darn it!

...I have no idea what I'm doing, so I'm sorry this is so horrible! XD
breyzyyin: (Yin: don't forget about the Red Team! XD)

[personal profile] breyzyyin 2013-06-01 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
You break into the store...luckily, the store manager forgot to lock the door and set the alarm, so it was real easy (poor guy doesn't know that his employers are thinking of firing him tomorrow for forgetting to properly lock things up when he leaves for the night).

It's a small grocery store, so there's lots of food items to choose from...and, there's a snack kiosk full of all sorts of unhealthy-but-yummy snacks and candy bars right next to a magazine display. The cash register is right next to the magazine display too (along with the keys to Phil the manager's moped out back...it's really surprising how much stuff Phil forgets! XD). Farther along, there's some healthier options of fruit and veggies. You have some change in your pockets, so you could probably pay for any snacks you might get too...what will you do?

...I should not type these up when I'm hungry, orz. I need to eat lunch soon! XD

You open the DOOR.

Surprisingly, it is not locked. You feel SUNLIGHT stream in and revel in its warmth. For now. Noon is going to be a different story, but you can deal, can't you?

If you were hoping for a sweet sweet taste of freedom, though, too bad. The SUNLIGHT streaming in is from the WINDOW at the far end of the room this door opens into. There are horrible green CURTAINS on the window. They have a dizzying paisley pattern. The room appears to be a living room.

The FURNITURE is all mismatched, and the RUG on the floor is vaguely mortifying, in an unidentifiable kind of way. There is a PAINTING hanging on the wall, in psychedelic colours. It seems to be a depiction of a DEMONIC GOAT WEEPING TEARS.

There are exits to the EAST and NORTH. The window faces WEST.

(I)nventory: (Definitely) FEVERED MIND.

You contemplate the room and decide to speak to the DEMONIC GOAT WEEPING TEARS.

...are you sure that's a good idea? Well, it can't be taken back now, so eh. You hope it won't devour your BRAIN for lunch, although that would wrap up the problem of having a FEVERED MIND.

It tells you in a hollow voice, VARNISH ERROR 503.

Holy internets, you have no idea what a VARNISH ERROR 503 is, but maybe it means it wants NAIL VARNISH. What a demonic goat would want with NAIL VARNISH, you have no clue, but a quest's a quest, even one as hackneyed and ridiculous as this.

QUEST UPDATE:
[ ] Find NAIL VARNISH for the DEMONIC GOAT.

(I)nventory: Thankfully intact, definitely FEVERED MIND

You heave a sigh of relief as you head NORTH, barely remembering to open the DOOR before you walk headlong into it.

Embarrassing bruise averted.

You can feel the cold yellow eyes of the DEMONIC GOAT boring into the back of your neck as you leave. It demands food. Sacrifice. Blogposts.

And NAIL VARNISH, you remind yourself.

You breathe in a gulp of fresh air as you find yourself standing outside. The landscape looks normal enough - or does it?

You are standing in a FIELD OF FLOWERS. They're strange colours. You're not sure what kind of flowers they are, because you've never seen them before and the person writing this can't be bothered to check flowers up on the 'net. The scent of the FLOWERS is heavy on the breeze.

Exits are in all directions.
