6.04: FF Hurt 'n' Heal
6.04: FF Hurt 'n' Heal [Predictions]
I signed on as a minigames mod just to run this game. It's back! It's... the FF HURT 'N' HEAL! But with 32 brand new characters! For those of you who are new, here's the rundown:
I've chosen 32 characters from nine different Final Fantasy games, grouped into parties of four. Each round, you will have the option to attack or to heal one character of your choosing in each of the parties. When a character falls to 0 HP they are eliminated. As characters get eliminated, the separate parties will combine until there's just one character left standing, who will be the winner. Before the game begins, however, you will have the opportunity to predict how the battles will unfold (this post), and bonus points will be awarded to those who best predicted the results.
Attacking and Healing
Each day you'll have the choice between attacking and curing a character. The amount of damage you can deal/heal depends on what your sorted class is...
| Class | Attack | Cure |
| • White Mage | 100 HP | 400 HP |
| • Black Mage • Monk • Soldier • Thief | 300 HP | 200 HP |
| • Dragoon | 400 HP | 100 HP |
Example Round
Here's an example of what a typical round would look like, using some FFVII characters (who are sadly not participating in this activity yet again). You might see something like this as one of the eight parties:
|
| ||||||||
|
|
Let's say I want to attack Yuffie. There will be a poll where I can enter something like this:

At the end of the day, when the polls close, 300 damage will be dealt to Yuffie because of my vote and my class as a Black Mage. However, let's say three other people together heal Yuffie by 600 HP in the same round as well. Then the next day Yuffie will actually be at 1200 HP.
Now suppose in the same turn, 3 people attacked Red XIII, reducing him to 0 HP. Then he will be knocked out (KO) and will be eliminated from the competition.
When two people in two neighboring parties are KO'd, those parties will join to become a new party of 4.
The Bracket
Okay, so now that that example is out of the way, here are the real 32 contestants and the bracket. From now until Thursday May 23, bracket predictions will be open. Instructions on filling out a bracket prediction are below.
| FFIX Party | ![]() Beatrix | ![]() Eiko | ![]() Freya | ![]() Steiner |
| FFV Party | ![]() Bartz | ![]() Exdeath | ![]() Faris | ![]() Gilgamesh |
| FFX/X-2 Party | ![]() Lulu | ![]() Paine | ![]() Seymour | ![]() Wakka |
| FFVIII Party | ![]() Irvine | ![]() Laguna | ![]() Selphie | ![]() Zell |
| FFXII Party | ![]() Ashe | ![]() Fran | ![]() Larsa | ![]() Vayne |
| FFIV/VI Party | ![]() Edgar | ![]() Edge | ![]() Rosa | ![]() Setzer |
| FFT Party | ![]() Agrias | ![]() Delita | ![]() Mustadio | ![]() Ramza |
| FFXIII Party | ![]() Cid Raines | ![]() Hope | ![]() Sazh | ![]() Serah |
The order is important because neighboring parties get combined, so if two people from FFXII get KO'd and two people from FFIV/VI get KO'd, the four remaining will form a new IV/VI/XII Party.
Predictions
Here's a way of visualizing the bracket:
IX (a) ----.
|-- V/IX (i) -------.
V (b) -----' |
|-- V/VIII/IX/ (m) --.
X/X-2 (c) -. | /X/X-2 |
|-- VIII/X/X-2 (j) -' |
VIII (d) --' |
|-- FINAL (o, p)
XII (e) ---. |
|-- IV/VI/XII (k) --. |
IV/VI (f) -' | |
|-- IV/VI/XII (n) ---'
T (g) -----. | /XIII/T
|-- XIII/T (l) -----'
XIII (h) --'
If you're doing a bracket predictions, you would need to pick:
(a) two winners from FF9: Beatrix, Eiko, Freya, Steiner
(b) two winners from FF5: Bartz, Exdeath, Faris, Gilgamesh
(c) two winners from FF10/10-2: Lulu, Paine, Seymour, Wakka
(d) two winners from FF8: Irvine, Laguna, Selphie, Zell
(e) two winners from FF12: Ashe, Fran, Larsa, Vayne
(f) two winners from FF4/6: Edgar, Edge, Rosa, Setzer
(g) two winners from FFT: Agrias, Delita, Mustadio, Ramza
(h) two winners from FF13: Cid Raines, Hope, Sazh, Serah
(i) two winners from the four you picked in (a) & (b)
(j) two winners from the four you picked in (c) & (d)
(k) two winners from the four you picked in (e) & (f)
(l) two winners from the four you picked in (g) & (h)
(m) two winners from the four you picked in (i) & (j)
(n) two winners from the four you picked in (k) & (l)
(o) two winners from the four you picked in (m) & (n)
(p) one final winner from (o)
Just to be clear, for later rounds like (i) through (o) above, you can pick ANY two of the four. For example, for (i), you do NOT have to pick one from (a) and one from (b). You could pick the two you chose from (b) if you think they would be the last two standing of that combined V/IX party.
To make a prediction, fill out the following form and submit it in a comment to this post:
Comments are screened. Be sure to leave your team name/tag banner with your prediction.
Other Notes
When a party is joined, all members in the new party are healed by 300 HP.
There may be random events or rule changes that will happen if there is difficulty eliminating characters.
If a double KO happens in a way that eliminates more than two people in a party, a tiebreaker will be held.
The point system for evaluating the accuracy of predictions is as follows:
- Correct guess for first round (initial parties): 1pt each
- Correct guess for second round (2-game parties): 2pts each
- Correct guess for third round (4-game parties): 3pts each
- Correct guess for fourth round (final party): 5pts each
- Correct guess for fifth round (final winner): 8pts
The three people with the most accurate predictions get bonus points!
Let me know if anything above needs clarification.
