It's game six, and for our first minigame we're doing a bit of a crossover...
Final Fantasy Pokemon Teams!
Simply pick a Final Fantasy character and then give them Pokemon that you think would fit with them!
For those unfamiliar with Pokemon, it's alright, since you can just place characters with Pokemon that just look like they fit, or... you can give Gilgamesh a team full of Magikarp if you want. There aren't many restrictions t othis! If the amount of Pokemon seems overwhelming, you're also free to just use an earlier pokedex, for instance, the original 151.
Ex: Edward's team:

(Most of that revolves around Pokemon with the sing ability, so you can also look up to see which Pokemon have similar skills to characters if you want. + The golden makikarp is because he's considered useless by most, but his stats skyrocket around level 40, to the point he was doing more physical damage than Kain in my gameand it's shiny because he's royalty, so he could totally afford a shiny.)
One-- the site I used to make the card above. It even has some FF character sprites you can use, like Yuffie.
Two-- The Pokemon wikia (List of skills)
Three-- Team builder
You don't have to use any of these, and you can submit your entries as text if you want.
You can submit 3 cards for 5 points each, as well as get another 5 points for giving an explanation.
Total points available: 20
Deadline: May 9th, 11:59 EST

(That said, there are limits... a card with just one Pokemon probably won't work unless you can reason it out, like "[x] is just so powerful, all he needs is Mewtwo!")

She's half about cutesy fun, but her term is also on the destructive side. Her pokemon team is concentrated on quick, brutal attacks, and there isn't much real strategy. It's enough to get her a few badges here and there. She's not going to catch them all, nor that she plans to.
Second: Aeris (with a new outfit)
Aeris doesn't give a flying apple's stem about collecting badges. She's about getting as many grass types as she could. Any single one of her pokemon is capable of wiping down an entire team, assume the other team isn't fire, bug, flying; or one of the many many other types that could flip her entire collection in one go.
Third: Jihl Nabaat (post haircut)
She is a fencer, an attacker more so than a defender. She intentionally lens toward the sharp edged, fast assaulters; Pokemon that are steel, poison or slashers are her top choice. Unlike the previous two trainers, Jilh is far more strategic. She coordinates her team like the commander that she is, and the power of her Pokemon combined is far greater than the sums of the individuals.
That and she did collect them all. Badges. Of the same set.

Kefka is a total troll so his party makes little strategic sense. He has a Mew because...Kefka likes rare cute things that he can abuse to do his bidding... As for the Psyduck I admit I chose it because it has 'Hypnosis' as an ability and we all know that Kefka loves that but also because Psyduck is infamous in the anime for being incompetent 90% of the time and then WHOA HOLY CRAP WHAT CURBSTOMPER the other 10%. Same can be said of Wobuffet. Voltorb is there because GODAMN that is a troll pokemon - EVERY TIME I PICK UP AN ITEM *BOOM* YOU SON OF A BITCH I NEED TO CONSERVE MY HP AND YOU'RE A GODDAMN VOLTORB. Also it has self-destruct which is an annoying and nihilistic move so that would be right up Kefka's alley. As for Magikarp...again I'm guessing Kefka has it for the troll value. And Gengar is...well Gengar is the stuff of nightmares. So obviously it's perfect for Keffers.
I decided to be a loser and look up the VAs of all the gym leaders and sure enough - a few of them were in FF. (I only went with the 4 that were in Dissidia but I spotted a few more that if in a game with Kefka probably would be forced to battle him and have some bit of them ripped off as a badge of honor.)
Trio Badge: Chilli, one of the Striatron City gym leaders is played by Tidus's seiyuu Masakazu Morita
Basic Badge: Leonora, leader of the Nacrene City gym is played by Ultimecia's seiyuu Atsuko Tanaka
Rain Badge: Wallace, leader of the Sootopolis City gym is voiced by Sephiroth's seiyuu Toshiyuki Morikawa
Zephyr Badge: Falkner, leader of the Violet city gym is voiced by Kuja's seiyuu Akira Ishida
Oh and want a screwed up seiyuu pokemon fact? Kain was voiced by Mew in Japanese. (Kouichi Yamadera is can pretty much transform his voice into anything...)

Quina no follow path of trainer. Quina follow path of gourmand! Badges no taste so good... make belly hurt. Quina friends with Lickitung, it have gourmand's senses! Lick everything in sight to see is tasty or not! Also have little chewing gum that taste of many flavors...is very strange. Is hard work being trainer so Quina carry lots of eggs as snack. Eggs tasty!

Cuore from Final Fantasy IV: The After Years
~She's just starting out and learning the ropes from Rydia, so all of her Pokémon are in the basic/standard form (uh, I'm sure there's an official name for that! I've never played the games before so I don't know any of the terms. I remember these Pokémon from the anime, lolz!). She's still practicing, but she's already earned a couple badges.
Fang from Final Fantasy XIII
~All Flying and Dragon type Pokémon for Fang...which seems to be working for her badge collection! As a Dragoon, she just wouldn't have it any other way. XD
Noctis from Final Fantasy Versus XIII
~He doesn't have a team of six yet because his "Pokémon game" is still in development. *is hurt!* His fashion sense certainly seems to indicate a love of the color black, so Noctis seems to be the type to have Dark type Pokémon on his team to match his style and color scheme.

Poor Noctis probably caught the mysterious "Missingno" pokemon whilst in Lavender Town and it screwed up the entire world of Versus!

~Aria from Final Fantasy III~
...Aria, the Maiden of Water, looks a lot more chipper and carefree in the Pokémon-verse! XD Naturally, all of her Pokémon are more Water-based--and she has access to some higher level ones to correspond with how in FFIII she had some pretty high-level White Magic spells at her disposal.
~Porom and Palom from Final Fantasy IV~
...The Mysidian apprentices are working as a team of trainers with differing fighting styles (and they're into cosplay too, woot~! ♥). Since they're just beginning to learn about Pokémon, all of their initial Pokémon were starting ones (in this case, a whole bunch of Eevees)--but they cleverly learned how to evolve their Pokémon into differing types to have a versatile combat style.
I don't know anything about Pokémon, so I am really just making this stuff up based on some things I read on the wiki for it. XD~Vaan from Final Fantasy XII~
...Vaan, who evidently is a music lover in the Pokémon-verse. XD Given his desire to be a Sky Pirate, I figured that would correspond to a love/appreciation of Flying-type Pokémon--thus his Pokémon lineup. ♥

ULTROS
Ultros really looks like a Pokemon himself, but he THINKS he looks like a really buff biker dude, because really. So he's kind of a Pokemon who decided to be above other Pokemon and catch 'em all!
... he seems to have started with other octopi.
Typhon can be blamed for the Skuntank (well, that and that Pokemon is also complete repeat-battle comic relief bait in one Pokemon game) and... mushroom thing I forgot the name of (I haven't played B/W), but it looks silly and the wikia told me James had one. Ultros would totally get James if he took a "Which Human From the Pokemon anime are you?" test online (unless he purposely cheated), so...
Also bidoof.
Because really. Bidoof.
Not to mention you fight a zillion of them.
And he earned one badge just by luck. The other Pokemon wouldn't even listen to Ultros and instead ran around rampant, but luckily Brock's gym is weak to water types and enough water got squirted around (...) that all of Brock's pokemon fainted in the crossfire.

I loved reading this!

And thanks!

Also... I think I want a bidoof.

I think almost everyone has one at one point in Pearl/Diamond. They're literally everywhere, and I seem to recall having several of them at the beginning until I got a complete team. It felt a little ridiculous. XD

An array of cute Pokemon across different types, because it's Vivi. I went with the basic black magic trio (Fire/Ice/Lightning - well, Electric in this case), and the Duskull is because it reminds me tremendously of IX Black Mages. Togepi's because, well, psychic - mages need the power of the mind, right?
also because it's cute but eh.The Lunatone & Clefable speak for themselves, I think. Umbreon for Dark Knight, Gallade for Paladin, Buneary because I always associate the guy with rabbits. (I think it's the Hummingways. And moon bunnies.)

Because I am unpredictable, my first card is dedicated to Fang. I knew I had to use a mix of dark/ground/flying types to fit her personality and fighting style. Unfortunately I did not like any flying pokemon for her so I went only with the first two types. Her team would obviously be strong with attacks, hence the dark and ground types types. Ground pokemon seem to have more HP usually, just like Fang in XIII. She is determined so she already has a team of six, as well as many badges and is known for being one of the best trainers, period.
I had no concept for Hope's team at first but in the end, i decided that Normal types were a nice pick for him, since Alexander has non-elemental attacks. That's pretty much all there is to it. He is slowly becoming stronger thus his collection isn't complete just yet.
Shadow isn't really into collecting badges and does so only when he has to, of course it's easy for him to win any tournament he enters. He also isn't interested in having a big team but he ended up befriending a few pokemon already. They're all badass and dark type because it's just what fits Shadow best. He is also prone to catching any pokemon that resembles a dog.
Team Dragoon.

*Note: I also only included three pokemon's for their dex however I went into detail, I figured that since they were minor villians, they do not have a large pokedex.. (however Golbex, giant pokedex, filled with the four elements -and- Kain. ("I shall call him Bulbakain...")
Cagnazzo - Water Fiend
This should actually be obvious of who I am going to pick for him. Cagnazzo sort of looks like a turtle and he had this pesky attack where he squirted you with water, then there was the wave. I mean I really shouldn't reward him like this for the whole Palom and Porom stone thing but you know, it's alright.. he just didn't get enough hugs as the King of Baron. So I'm going to give him Squirtle. Look, the two look so similar that Squirtle could honestly be his son, a very very cute son. Makes you just d'aww, doesn't it? And hey, with squirtle around.. poor Cagnazzo would get some love, wouldn't he? Could teach the little thing how to swim and patrol the Baron Sewers and then one day and with enough love and attention, he'd transform into Blastoise and be the pokemon that his papa always wanted him to be.
Next on the Dex is Rattata. Two words, Baron Sewers. Rats like the dankness of watery-type dungeons and you usually find a great many rats in sewers. As the Pseudo King of Baron, he needs to place his pokemon all over to spy for him, it's the most logical way to go.
Because we're placing related pokemon here and there, the last one is going to be Psyduck. The pokemon that no one takes seriously, in fact at that point in the game, Cagnazzo was really kind of easy and a joke. (that is until the whole Palom and Porom incident.) You know in Baron, that dancer that sits at the top of the lake, near the falls and dances for Cecil. Must of been Psyduck.
The Magus Sisters - Sandy, Cindy and Mindy.
Cue the Tower of Zot which was the most frustrating aspect of the game for me, even more frustrating in the DS version where it is MUCH much harder. I seriously got lost in the Tower of Zot more times then I could enunciate (perhaps because I didn't level up as much as I should have in either versions.) You get to the ones who gave us such thing as Delta Attack (which I will admit, I overused when I was offered it in FFVI.) Three sisters who Rubicant hid all the way up in the Tower of Zot while he was busy doing other things, like harassing the denizens of Eblan.
Note their fashion sense, yes.. they all look like bugs in most incarnations and so that is why I choose Beedrill for Mindy. I thought her conceptualization as a little bee was endearing and so I really wanted to pick a pokemon each that suited them.
Next on the dex is Butterfree. Another flying vermin and as the tall one was pretty much the butterfly, it makes sense that there would be a butterfly in the mix. This one would perhaps call directly to Sandy as she was the tall and slender one and the one with colourful plumage on her head that is a throwback to a butterfly emmerging from the cocoon.
Finally for Cindy, it's Ledyba. A Ladybug themed Pokemon which falls in keeping with the Ladybug Cindy. So that the three pokemon together makes up the pokedex for the trio.
The last one..
Dancing Calcabrena
Who all remembers this one? The Tower of Dolls; it was the villian that sucked if you had an aversion to dolls (like me) but in a positive light, it heralded the advent of POWEREDUP!GROWNUP!RYDIA!. Completely decimates your party with the creep factor but then Rydia comes in and saves the day (My heroine!).
First up in their pokedex is Jigglypuff. The pokemon that likes to 'sing'. Good because honestly the music was the creepiest stuff ever and I'm listening to the theme now (Courtesy of Final Fantasy Celtic Moon) and just yeah, shivers are imminent. Not to mention that a jigglypuff would be another type of cute thing that Princess Luca might keep on her nightstand.
Next is Hypno Which none of the Final Fantasy IV characters will thank me for. The Dancing Calcabrena pretty much owned the entire group so that they were put into various states of halted movement, and Hypno would be the one to help with that, thus assuring their utter dominance over the party (that is until Rydia gets there to own them.)
And to round out this triune of terror.. I'm going with Mr. Mime. If there's something scarier then dolls, it's clowns. In for a pence, in for a pound I always say. It would make the triune of power complete and would fuel all sorts of nightmare fodder. Dolls making this part of the game creepy, hey.. let's add a CLOWN!.
Please Rydia, hurry soon before Cecil and gang wet themselves.
--
And that concludes my pokedex.

Also, yes, the Celtic Moon version of Dancing Calcabrena is one of the creepiest tunes ever. It gave me the chills the first time I listened to it and it still does. Also love your really detailed explanation for all the villains! (Cannot... unsee... the Psyduck...)

Also, my mother has a pair of those pretty Japanese dolls in a little glass cabinet next to the living room television.
I used to play Fatal Frame on a PS2 connected to said television. About half an hour in I'd start edging away from the glass cabinet...

oh this is fun <3
Yuffie is my card #1!
Ninjask - a ninja type Pokemon for our favourite (or not) ninja! It's also got a high speed stat, which I feel suits Yuffie quite well.
Scizor - Another fast Pokemon, but one that has blades/claws as well, because Yuffie has her shuriken.
Gyarados - because the people of Wutai worship Leviathan, so have a giant water dragon/snake/thing.
Murkrow - Is a crow, and fascinated with shiny objects and thieving. I mean come on.
Ariados - Poison, also has that sort of ninja-feel to it. (Possibly because it is poison type, and the poison gym is usually run by ninjas...)
Ditto - because being able to blend into the crowd can be handy, particularly for a thief extraordinaire!
Yuffie likes collecting badges (because shiny, and they have the potential to make her stronger!) but because her team is so random, she doesn't have a whole lot of them yet. Still, she's going for them all!
Vanille is card #2~
Chancey - Because she wants to support her friends and be there for them, and be able to have them rely on her when they need healing or even just moral support!
Clefable - Cute, and has the potential to be surprisingly powerful.
Minccino - Another cute one, and another normal type because they're not particularly weak, but also don't usually have any outstanding qualities. They're... Average.
Minun - In a team with Plusle, or even just with another trainer's pokemon, because they support each other and others!
Plusle - In a team with Minun, or even just with another trainer's pokemon, because they support each other and others!
Yamask - because even the cutest person can be hiding something depressing.
Vanille wouldn't be all that concerned with collecting badges, and more focused on enjoying the travels with her friends and Pokemon!
Annnd the last card is Zidane!
someone had to do it and it was probably gonna be me or toffee soRaichu - Tough but still adorable, and capable of more than just electric attacks. Fairly versatile.
Zebstrika - Super fast thunder type, who, like Raichu, can also learn other types of attacks.
Ninetales -
eyyyy pretty ladyFast fire type for some balance and grace.Pidgeot - graceful flying type Pokemon with decent speed and attack.
Mankey -
... I don't really think I need to explain this oneA fighting type that can pack a pretty mean punch when necessary.Lucario - Can learn a balanced combination of physical and special attacks, and is also quite strong.
Team Dragoon~!

For my first trainer, I decided to give Seymour Guado a try. He only has one pokemon, a Giratina, but it's a legendary, so I figured that was enough. I chose Giratina because I was trying to create this parallel between it and Anima. Anima is easily one of the most powerful summons in the game (and Seymour only ever had her as his only summon), so I figured I could get away with it. Anyway, Giratina is a half-Ghost, half-Dragon legendary, which seemed fitting. (Nevermind that one half of Anima looks more like a fish.) The fact that Giratina apparently has two forms sold it for me as well, since Anima has another form underground, and Seymour likes to change form as well. He is also "ghostly" himself, since he's technically dead for most of the game. To make up for the lack of team, I tried to be a little more creative with his badges. I chose fire, water, and electric to signify his mastery over those elements, fog because he's kind of shady and elusive and he's dead/a ghost for most of the game, mind because of his cunning and ability to manipulate others, and the trio one to imply mastery over elements again. I know those aren't technically what badges were for and I clearly got carried away with this, but hopefully it's okay lmao.
Next up is Relm Arrowny. For me, Ditto seemed like a no-brainer pokemon to have on her team on account of her Sketch ability, which mimics enemies. As for the rest of the team, I tried to go for things that were cute, not too reliant on physical attacks, but fast and could kind of pack a punch if used well. I imagine Relm probably likes to go after those badges, but hasn't won too many yet because of her inexperience, but the ones she has won were on account of her knowing how to trick enemies into false security!
And last but not least, we have Irvine Kinneas. Irvine could care less about winning badges, he just wants to win the hearts of the cute lady gym leaders and pokemon trainers. His team consists of pokemon that he thinks will impress the lady folk, which... generally ends up backfiring on him on account of the more temperamental natures of most of his team. His best lady catcher, however, is his loyal and adorable Eevee. In spite of Irvine's laid-back and easygoing nature, when he actually buckles down, he can be a great opponent, and has a sensitivity and compassion to his pokemon that might be surprising. The trick is... actually getting him to focus on anything that isn't human and female.

Team Soldier
Nostalgiamon
All treasure hunters must, of course, have a Furret; they're like the little drones that collect power ups for you in bullet hell games. Aipom serves a similar function; it climbs, it climbs well, and it has three opposable thumbs.
Then you have Sandslash, which... well, digs; a must-have for tomb-raiding and general spelunking, as Locke should well know from his Narshe days! It's probably there where he got his lovely Piloswine, which doubles as a blanket for those cold, lonely nights. ;_; (Until Celes enters the scene. Ahem.)
Sneasel is like one of the big thief-y pokemon; I'd have given him Murkrow, too, but his Flying slot was taken up by THE PHOENIX MAGICITE.
Next up! With the voice of angels, the belle of the ball, she charms octopi and smugglers alike!
Rarely seen without her traveling stage, Maria is always ready to whip up a on-the-spot performance with her twin Loudred amps, her Ampharos spotlight, and her beautiful Rosalia dancers! Her singing coach, Wigglytuff, is rarely seen but rumoured to be an absolute knockout.
Finally, somebody who couldn't possibly be her sword-wielding alter-ego, the Mistress Runic, the Knight Fantastic, the General Celes Chere!
What's a knight without her Rapidash charger? A Gallade is her blade, a Mime her shield; and at her back, Gardevoir and Glaceon give her all the support she needs! Rumours place her in a steamy relationship with legendary... treasure hunter, Locke Cole, but this Warrior of Justice has denied every question tossed her way! And an even greater mystery surrounds her final Pokemon--it is said that the blackened Pokeball holds some ancient evil, sealed by ancient magics and replenished by her goodly deeds. The world may never know what dark secret it hides.

First of all, one of my fav chars (per my recent app) Judge Magister Gabranth (couldn't fit the whole name in the tag hence Gabranth only).
I see him as having gone for the all the badges/defeating Elite Four as soon as possible and having a pretty physically tough (high attack/defense and bulky/hardened pokemon) team for the most part, hence all the rock/steel/ground types. Something that can raze the enemy without problems whereas not so attuned to attacks of the non-physical kind.
I also see him being pretty close to his Steelix especially; such a magnificent powerful pokemon under his control, that's enough to give anyone a power kick and one knows that's something Gabranth does enjoy (whereas not as openly in the game, because of the Empire and whatnot).
(I'll edit it as I go and manage to do so before the deadline; still trying to come up with more characters)

Jecht was (obviously) my first choice! Yes yes, no one is surprised, whatever. I went with a Scizor cosplayer for the sprite because I think that Scizor really suits Jecht heh (also it's red? MY INFINITE WISDOM.) This one is more for the lols really I guess... he has a Wailord for Sin, a Zangoose for Auron and a Roserade for Braska. He also has all the Johto badges cos that's just the kinda guy Jecht is. Yup.
Next up, Balthier! I went with a Fly and Thief theme for this one - he has all of the flying gym badges to symbolise his airshippery, and I chose pokemon to suit his piratical nature. Pidgeot would have been his first pokemon I think; Mightyena is a typical thiefy type pokemon usually found in the bad guy teams; Kadabra because he can both use Teleport AND Thief, which makes him a perfect pirate; Crobat cos he's super fast to help them escape; Cubone for fighting and loneliness and finally Misdreavus for the mischief and thievery that sky pirates embody.
Finally, Yuna. All of Yuna's pokemon can learn Wish (in the absence of a Pray move I think Wish is the most Yuna-like). She only has two badges; the Rainbow and Soul badge from 1st gen to symbolise the start of her journey (Rainbow to depict her becoming a Summoner and Soul to depict her first Sending). Her main pokemon would be a shiny Eevee; Gardevoir to depict a Summoner's dance; Togekiss for the general atmosphere of the game; Chimecho for gentleness; Chansey for healing and Kangaskhan for motherhood and caring for others.
